About 1,200 children from schools in the municipalities of Los Alcazares, San Javier and La Manga del Mar Menor has been inducted into the sport of sailing and canoeing as part of the agreement between Marine Resort Mar Menor, the Commonwealth Tourism del Mar Menor and the municipalities involved, who have funded these courses.
This project aims to bring the sea and water sports to children, is carried by 11 years with great success.
This initiative, which began in April and lasts until late May, has both practical and theoretical content.
At the beginning of the course were given to 6 students a handbook of sailing and kayaking guide to the 5 th.
In total, completed 12 course hours over 6 sessions of 2 hours within the school, receive sufficient training to sail a boat sailing the grade 6 pupils and successfully navigate the canoe grade 5 students.
During the last session, the organizers of the course will take a test to students in which knowledge is valued for its passage by sailing and canoeing school.
Participating schools have been very interested in being able to have these courses that have allowed children to move to different nautical bases within the school day.
Participating schools have been CP Our Lady of Loreto, CP El Mirador, CP Fulgencio Ruiz, Joaquín Carrión CP, CP La Paz, CP CC Severo Ochoa and the Sacred Heart of San Javier, La Manga Mediterranean CP, CP Al Kazar, CP Welcome Warren, CC Las Claras del Mar Menor and CP Petra Sanchez in Los Alcazares.
The courses were held in Socaire sailing schools, Los Arcos, Sandrina, Canoeing Mar Menor Sailing School Yacht Club Mar Menor and El Galán Sailing School, all belonging to the marine resort Mar Menor.
