Reiterates "the real commitment of the PP with the recovery and conservation of the Mar Menor, supported by the investment of the regional Executive with 50 million euros contemplated in the annuities of 2018-19, against the inaction of the Government of Pedro Sánchez that does not allocate a single euro "

The candidates of the PP to the Regional Assembly, Joaquín Segado, Antonio Luengo and Mirian Guardiola have visited, this Sunday, the municipality of Los Alcázares accompanied by the local candidate, Nicolás Ruiz and where they have held a meeting with candidates and leaders of the PP of the municipalities bathed by the Mar Menor to highlight the PP's electoral proposals in tourism, "from the PP we promote measures to have a quality tourism, sustainable for 365 days a year and continue creating employment in the sector, taking advantage of the wealth natural and the artistic and cultural heritage of our land, "said Joaquín Segado.

Therefore, he noted that "to break the tourist dependence of the summer months we will work on development with the entire sector and municipalities to innovate in gastronomic tourism, religious tourism, wine tourism, health tourism or cruise."

Thus he has remarked that 250,000 cruise passengers and 100,000 crew members have come to the Region through the Port of Cartagena. "

"The PP is committed to tourism throughout the region, throughout the year," Segado said to stress that "our location makes us a privileged enclave of the Spanish and European Mediterranean, being the only area of Spain bathed by two seas."

Segado has reported that "the tourism sector has grown exponentially in recent decades thanks to the policies of the Popular Party and we are convinced that we can grow much more. Last year we visited 5.7 million tourists, a number that has not stopped to grow in recent years, we plan to reach six million this year. "

The candidate of the PP to the Regional Assembly considers that "the capacity to generate employment and the expansive power of this sector must go hand in hand with a high qualification of the human resources, but also of the development of the infrastructures".

In that sense, the recent opening of the Region of Murcia International Airport and the arrival of the AVE "must represent a real shock plan for our tourism sector and an engine for congress tourism," he said.

"The Region of Murcia International Airport is already an engine for the promotion of regional tourism abroad, which is why we will reach agreements with other airlines that will attract national and international tourists and allow us to surpass the figure of 6 million tourists. The destinations will be expanded and a network of connections will be provided with the coastal and interior areas, "he said.

INCENTIVE PROGRAM FOR HOTEL PROJECTS OF QUALITY

Among the actions related to tourism infrastructure, the 'popular' candidate recalled that "we will create an independent tourism council, based in Cartagena, the city that receives the highest percentage of tourists in the region."

"We will also implement a program of incentives and grants for the creation of quality hotel projects and the modernization of the equipment of our hotel beds" he said, to defend the PP's commitment to "accessible and inclusive tourism construction in the accommodations We will also create the regional sustainable tourism brand. "

The impetus and professionalism of the tourism sector through the improvement of training and innovation "is one of the objectives set by the PP," said Joaquín Segado, who referred to the firm commitment of the "popular" the qualification of the workers of this sector "as a key element to increase the quality of the services and to give the Region a good image as a tourist destination".

For this, he added "we will establish collaboration agreements with the different universities and training centers of our Region that provide studies related to tourism".

"Gastronomic tourism will mark a preferential place in our tourism policy", assured Segado because without a doubt, "the Region of Murcia will be identified as a destination of experiences associated with an excellent and diverse gastronomy".

"PROTECT THE LESSER SEA AND WE WORK FOR YOUR TOTAL RECOVERY"

Tourism is one of our priority sectors and, specifically, the one of sun and beach which attracts the most visitors to our Region, especially to the Mar Menor "that we protect and we work for its total recovery", has specified the candidate for the Autonomous Parliament.

"For the Popular Party the recovery and conservation of the Mar Menor is a real commitment, backed by the investment of the regional Executive, 50 million euros in two annuities (2018-2019)." At this point, the PP candidate has made reference to the "inaction of the socialist government of Pedro Sánchez that does not destine a single euro to the Mar Menor".

In this regard, he also regretted that the Executive of the Nation has paralyzed "all the actions we had achieved", and has mentioned as an example the execution of the "Zero Discharge Plan" that we will demand from the Government of Spain to "complete its processing , to guarantee the water and hydrological balance in the Mar Menor;

as well as carrying out the necessary infrastructures such as drainage channels, denitrifiers, rolling tanks or construction of dams in ravines that minimize the effects produced by the cold drop on the coastal lagoon ".

We will also urge the Executive of Pedro Sanchez to "undertake the environmental recovery of the ravines that flow into the Mar Menor, especially those of the south basin, which provide a greater number of nutrients, sediments or heavy metals."

"We will demand that the Government of Spain write and apply the plan of actions on beaches so that we can define what to do in each area without affecting the environment," he concluded.
