The City Council of Los Alcázares announces that it has canceled the celebration of the XII Mar Menor Beach Soccer Championship 2019 scheduled on August 10 and 11 at the beach of Las Palmeras de Los Narejos, as there is no legal contract that covers its celebration.
Legal-administrative reports made from the session confirm that the former councilor for sports belonging to the corporation of the popular party in the previous legislature held behind the City Council signing this contract with the company organizing this sporting events.
Municipal sources say that "the seriousness of the facts is remarkable, since said contract is signed by former councilor Nicolás Ruíz without the same being trained for his signature and with a duration of 4 years, worth 10,000 euros per year."
According to the document that the current councilor of sports of this city council Pedro Pascual has been able to access, and which is entitled "Contract for the provision of service", among the clauses highlights a compensation to the promoter association worth 6,000 euros per suspended edition.
The mayor Mario Cervera has decided to suspend this sporting event for obvious reasons, since according to the reports of the technicians "the contracting authority for this event was the Local Government Board and not the councilman without a signature for it."
The former mayor Nicolás Ruíz sent a letter to the city council saying that "the document has no legal relationship by the concurring parties."
From the responsible council, they affirm that "if the former councilor knew that it had no validity, the use of the official seal of the session and the signature of the former councilor itself was a palpable irregularity."
