The energy efficiency measures of Los Alcázares will allow to reduce in 33 percent the invoice of the light of public buildings (24/01/2017)

The energy audit carried out in the City Council of Los Alcázares by the Institute of Regional Development, within the framework of the ELENA-Fuensanta project (European Local Energy Assistance) has allowed to identify a series of actions that will help to reduce energy consumption and Environmental impact of the consistory, and that will reduce the bill of light in four municipal buildings by 33 percent.

Among the actions proposed are those of implementing energy efficiency measures on lighting systems and thermal installations, improving energy supplies, as well as putting in place renewable energy systems.

The audit submitted proposes to carry out an investment in these four municipal buildings that would be around 222,000 euros, which would reduce consumption by 300,940 kW hourly a year and reduce the energy bill by 68,218 euros a year, achieving a reduction of emissions of 92 , 6 tons of CO2, equivalent to the emissions that would produce 51 vehicles in a year;

The Region achieves the project objectives set out by Europe

The European project ELENA-Fuensanta, articulated through an agreement signed between the Institute of Development and the European Investment Bank (EIB), has already mobilized an investment of more than 17.7 million euros to implement efficiency measures Energy in the 16 municipalities of the Region that have adhered to this initiative.

Thus, the project has already surpassed the objective of mobilizing € 15 million in investments indicated by Europe and will mean a medium-term saving of more than two million euros, which will also allow the creation of more than 300 posts Of work in the Region.

In particular, all these measures aimed at improving energy efficiency, such as the removal of luminaires and their replacement by low-energy LED lamps, improvements in the insulation of municipal buildings, changes in energy tariffs or improvements in Air-conditioning systems, will also help to stop the emission of a total of 5,541 tonnes of polluting gases per year, which is equivalent to emissions of more than 3,000 cars in circulation for one year.
