The PSOE demands a 50 percent bonus on the IBI for those affected by the 2016 floods in Los Alcázares (22/02/2018)

Alfonso Martínez Baños denounces the inactivity of the regional government and the Government of Spain after the floods, and ensures that the Socialist Parliamentary Group will present a motion in the Assembly to urge the Executive to carry out the bonus exceptionally by 2018

The spokesman of the PSOE in Los Alcázares, Mario Cervera, has announced that the Municipal Socialist Group of this municipality will propose next Monday that the City Council request the Government of Spain a bonus of 50 percent of the IBI for those affected and affected by the floods that have occurred in 2016, and that this bonus be incorporated into the General State Budgets.

"We are also going to demand immediately that they put in place some aid bases so that the donations that are in the bank accounts of the City Council reach where they need to be: those affected and affected," he said.

According to Cervera, it has been more than a year -14 months- since the "terrible" floods suffered by the residents of Los Alcázares.

"And not a single one of the promises made to those affected and affected has been fulfilled."

"Far away are the information that the mayor of Los Alcázares published on the affected and affected would benefit from rebates, tax rebates and fees, such as the IBI, the stamp of the vehicle or the water bill," he said.

He assured that the reality of those affected today is quite different from that announced by the mayor, since they have had to face the payment of all types of taxes, "even to fix their house damaged by water."

The socialist spokesman has also explained that this situation has been exacerbated by the inability of the municipal government to make donations that are in the bank accounts of the City, a total of 60,000 euros, of which there is still 50,000 in the consistory, "that should have been destined to those affected".

For its part, the Secretary of Municipal Policy PSRM-PSOE, Alfonso Martínez Baños, has denounced the inactivity of the regional government and the Government of Spain after the floods of 2016 in Los Alcázares.

"We have not advanced anything, the 31 million euros promised by the Government of Spain are still not coming and we still do not know anything about that amount of money," he said.

According to Martinez, the regional government has not done anything in this regard, since in the budgets of the Autonomous Community for 2018 there is no extraordinary item to help the municipality of Los Alcázares.

"And since the local government does not propose solutions either, the Municipal Socialist Group in the City Council of Los Alcázares has transferred a proposal to us, which we, in turn, will transfer to the Regional Assembly as a motion to boost the Government, which consists of establish a bonus of 50 percent of the receipt of the IBI exceptionally for the year 2018, "he explained.

"We are going to present a motion urging the government to adopt this measure, as was done in Lorca with the earthquakes, aid that still persists." This initiative does not represent an important amount for the Government of Spain but for the more than 5,000 housing affected by these floods, "he concluded.
