33 artisans participating in the IX Regional Crafts Festival of Los Alcazares during the week of the Garden and the Sea (04/08/2010)

The Director General of Trade and Crafts, Julio José Lorenzo, today introduced the 'IX Crafts Festival of Los Alcazares' organized by the Ministry of Universities and Research Company, through the Directorate General with the cooperation of the City and the 33 participating artisans and coincides with the celebration of the Week Huerta and the Sea in the coastal town.

Lorenzo was accompanied during the presentation by the Councillor of Culture, Education and Tourism of the town, Isabel Montesinos.

The exhibition, which will take place between 13 and 21 August at 20.00 hours to 24.00 hours, is divided into two areas due to high demand by the visitor in the last editions.

One is located at the bottom of the Rambla at the entrance from the beach and other area located at the top, in the garden, close to the stage where they represent the various folk activities.

The director general noted that "the broad representation of different sectors artisans make this event one of the most anticipated events of summer in this locality, as the success of previous editions."

The Crafts Festival offers visitors the chance to taste the regional specialties of food artisans, and bakers, confectioners, cheese processors and canned.

In addition, visitors can buy exclusive creations made by potters, potters, leather workers, metalisteros, bookbinders, tailors costumes, JEWELERS, rugs weavers, painters, silversmiths, toys, framers, restorers, makers of natural cosmetics, Bethlehem and glassmakers.

This initiative is included in the line developed by the Ministry to promote regional handicrafts "giving maximum publicity and making available to the craftsmen all the necessary tools to grow professionally and do their business becoming stronger and more competitive by adapting to the market needs and an increasingly demanding public, "said Julio José Lorenzo.

Furthermore, this action represents one of the biggest attractions of the week of Mar de la Huerta of Los Alcazares and contributes to the revitalization of retail and hospitality industry of the coastal municipality.
