Los Alcázares joins the regional government plan to prevent discharges to the Mar Menor (08/02/2016)

The municipality of Los Alcázares has an urban core of 15,735 inhabitants, which can reach 100,000 in the summer.

The remaining three are under study.

Tank storm, which has a capacity of 3,500 cubic meters, is located in the Rambla street of the town, has been executed in 12 months and he has invested a total of 1.2 million euros.

The infrastructure includes laminating a reservoir divided into two zones, the first consists of a new sewage pump, which will greatly increase the capacity of the current, and a reservoir rolling to prevent sewage discharged by malfunction pumping;

21 tanks of storms in the Mar Menor

This action is part of the plan 'zero discharges to the Mar Menor', which includes a network of storm tanks and piping system to prevent discharges into the lagoon.

It plans to build a total of 21 taques storm in the vicinity of the lagoon.

and three more in Los Alcázares, two in San Javier and one in San Pedro del Pinatar.

In this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment announced last week that in the coming months the procurement of services for the drafting of collector 'zero discharge' the Mar Menor North will be awarded, after the deadline, the December 18 last year, the period for submission of bids for the tender, which is ordinarily handled by the open procedure for submission of tenders.

Thus, in the coming days, the jury will keep several meetings in which it will proceed to analyze all jobs and then held the award.

The tender budget for the drafting of the project is 1,496,293 euros and the execution time is twelve months.
