The Governing Council has approved a grant of 4,350 euros to the mall 'Candles', which operates in the municipality of Los Alcazares cinema exhibition, for the implementation of the 'Over Film', launched by the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration in order to facilitate the attendance of the elderly to the movies, as a cultural enrichment and enjoyment of artistic expression.
With this aid is usually significantly reduces the cost of movie tickets, and establishing a symbolic price of 0.10 euros for adults.
The purpose of this activity is to promote and diversify the active occupation of leisure for people over 65 Spanish or foreigners with legal residence, and promote social integration and coexistence with other groups.
The City of Los Alcazares provides another 1,500 euros for the same purpose, bringing the total amount of the program in this county is of 5,850 euros.
This initiative, part of the program of activities to encourage greater personal autonomy, is already underway in other municipalities in the region such as Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca, Molina de Segura and Eagles.
