Public school students Requiel Welcome Warren of Los Alcazares participate tomorrow, Friday May 21 on a day that celebrates intercultural its seventh edition this year.
It held a variety of activities such as storytelling, traditional dances of each country, a graphic on the various art forms in the world and a demonstration of craftsmanship with a henna workshop, to finish the morning with a meeting gastronomic dishes typical of each country.
Welcome Warren Requiel school is characterized as a meeting place of different cultures, as the students come from different countries: Ecuador, Morocco, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Holland, Ukraine, Colombia, Bolivia, Jamaica, India ... More twenty-seven countries that make each classroom has a representation of various nationalities.
"We need to see the phenomenon of multiculturalism in the classroom as a positive thing because it encourages the foundation of respect between different cultures from an early age" assured the Councillor for Education, Isabel Montesinos.
The Department of Social Services, Women and Equality in coordination with the Department of Education and Culture is working on projects for the integration of the immigrant population, they constitute a significant group within the population alcazareño.
