The socialist spokesman, Mario Cervera, said that "it is incomprehensible that a reference pool in the entire region is closed since 2011".
At the end of 2011 the Popular Party agreed with the concessionaire a series of measures that modified the exploitation contract, during 2012, that favored the operating company and harmed residents and tourists who used these municipal facilities.
The measures were approved in plenary session only with the favorable vote of the Popular Party, in opposition of the PSOE, and left in the street to 10 workers.
The complete closure of the Ola Azul pool, the temporary closure of the heated pool during the summer and the SPA for 10 months, are some of the measures included in the agreement between the Municipal Government of the Popular Party and Aqualia.
And although the measures should only last 12 months, continues to affirm the Socialist Party of Los Alcázares, these are still taking place today without full agreement, as reported by the spokesman.
According to the spokesman, Mario Cervera, "our neighbors today pay more taxes, and receive less services, the clear example is the closure of this municipal facility, although today it is more necessary than ever unfortunately for the state of the Mar Menor" .
"We demand the municipal government to once feel with the concessionaire company so that this summer this pool can be enjoyed by residents, visitors and tourists of Los Alcázares and change their policy of closure and abandonment of municipal facilities."
