The mayor of Los Alcázares, Anastasio Bastida, the Councilor for Sports, Nicolás Ruiz and the director of sports of the Catholic University of Murcia, Pablo Rosique, presented this morning the Spanish University Taekwondo Championship to be held on 18 and 19 May in the municipality.
The event will be attended by 250 athletes, from 45 universities among which include the participation of Olympic medalists, Joel Gonzalez, Olympic champion in London 2012, double world champion, in the years 2009?
and 2011 ,?
and double European champion, in the years 20105?
and 2012.
For her part, Eva Calvo, participated in the Olympic Games of Rio de Janeiro 2016, obtaining a silver medal in the category of 57 kg, a bronze in the European Games of Baku in 2015 and two medals in the World Taekwondo Championship, silver in 2015 and bronze in 2013.
The sports director of the UCAM explained that "we will also have the presence of his sister, Marta Calvo who is current runner-up in Europe and who has had to change weight to not compete against her sister" he said.
The event will be held in Hall 13 of October, which has been inactive since the floods of 2016 and will enter again in operation with the Spanish University Taekwondo Championship in which you can see a great show in both male and female.
