The young people of the MurciArt Academy will also star in a concert on Sunday at Puerto Tomás Maestre in La Manga
The musical program of 'Mar Menor, + culture of which you imagine' begins this week with opera in Los Alcázares and a concert of classical music in La Manga.
This initiative, of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, includes a hundred cultural and gastronomic activities that will take place in the municipalities of Mar Menor (Cartagena, Los Alcázares, San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar) until the end of August.
The opera 'Lucia di Lammermoor', considered the paradigm of romantic Italian opera, can be followed live for free this Saturday, July 7 (9:30 pm), from the Royal Theater thanks to the giant screen that will be installed in the Paseo de la Concha of Los Alcázares.
The general director of the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts (ICA), Marta López-Briones, explained that "there are already several emissions made in the Region of Murcia thanks to the collaboration with the Teatro Real, an initiative that contributes to the goal of bringing opera and culture closer to the general public through high quality productions that can be followed from many places in the country and, in this case, from the very edge of the sea. "
The drama 'Lucia di Lammermoor', by Donizetti, will transport viewers to cold Scotland thanks to the work of a cast headed by Lisette Oropesa, Venera Gimadieva, Javier Camarena, Ismael Jordi and Roberto Tagliavini, with the musical direction of Daniel Oren and Scenic by David Alden.
The plot revolves around a young girl in love who falls into despair to be accused by her lover of treason for having married, against his will, with another man.
Closing of MurciArt
López-Briones pointed out that "opera will not be the only musical proposal of the Mar Menor cultural program, since other free activities will be organized such as piano recitals, a unique concert in which our regional symphony orchestra will reinterpret pop classics and the rock".
In addition, on Sunday in La Manga there will be a performance with the students and professors of the MurciArt Academy, who will show the public their talent and the work done during the master classes that are being held this week in the Regional Auditorium.
The MurciArt classical music festival takes place this week in the cloister of the San Esteban Palace, with high-level national and international soloists.
For its closing concert it will be moved next to the sea, to Puerto Tomás Maestre.
The performance is included in the programming of 'Mar Menor, + culture of which you imagine', and "is a new commitment of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture by young artists," added the head of ICA.
'Mar Menor, + culture of which you imagine' will be developed during the months of July and August in different points of Cartagena, Los Alcázares, San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar with the aim of bringing culture to the inhabitants and tourists of the Mar Menor coast, as well as promoting and enhancing the image of the Region of Murcia.
The program includes musical, theatrical, outdoor cinema, initiatives to promote reading and also gastronomic activities.
