The Minister of Tourism and Culture, Miriam Guardiola, the mayor of Los Alcázares, Anastasio Bastida, the director of the Week, Juan García Serrano and the town crier, Pablo González-Conejero, presented this morning the XLVII edition of the International Week of the Huerta and the Sea that will turn Los Alcázares into the world headquarters of folklore from August 14 to 24.
The starting gun will be given by Pablo Gonzalez with his speech on Sunday in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, although it will not be until August 11 when the Huertanos begin to arrive after their route by car.
The huertanos will come to Los Alcázares as they used to do, it will take sixteen hours since they leave Murcia until they arrive in the municipality.
The official opening will be on August 14 and will continue with the concert of Diego El Cigala, the following days will be on the stage of the Auditorium of the Peñas Huertanas Park, the Ballet of San Petesburgo, Sole Giménez, the Lyric Company of Madrid, In Live, Tony Zenet and Los del Rio. For all these concerts, the Department of the International Week of Huerta has prepared a payment of 60 euros that can be taken at the City of Los Alcázares and with which you can attend all the concerts and programmed performances from August 14 to 24.
As every year, the International Week of the Huerta y el Mar has a guest municipality, this time it will be Puerto Lumbreras, who makes the twinning with Los Alcázares on August 17.
The next day, the XV Bando Internacional de la Huerta y el Mar will take place on the main avenues of the municipality.
The mayor of Los Alcázares explained that "expect to receive 100,000 people as in previous years and thanked both the town crier and the author of the poster, Ana Pardo, neighbor of the municipality, for their participation in this edition" he said
Miriam Guardiola, Minister of Tourism and Culture, has shown her unconditional support for the most international party in Los Alcázares, in which customs are mixed with gastronomy, smells and flavors of the Murcian garden.
The director of the Week of the Huerta, Juan García Serrano stressed that "by the stage of the Auditorium of the Peñas Huertanas Park, groups from five continents have passed, which makes the Week the world headquarters of folklore"
