The Councilor for Sports, Nicolás Ruiz, the organizer of the event, José Olmos and representatives of the Mar Menor Sailing Club, today presented the 3rd Regata del Caldero and the last one of the Laúdes Circuit of Vela Latina del Mar Menor.
In the regatta, a dozen Latin sailboats will participate, vessels that attract attention due to the height of their sails, some of them with almost 15 meters and trapezoidal shape.
The participants will leave from the shore of the beach, where they will leave their cauldrons and then taste the most typical dish of the Mar Menor.
The Latin sail is the oldest way to sail.
José Olmos explained that "with this regatta we intend to publicize the origins of our history and thus remember how the Caldero Day was born," he said.
For his part, the Councilor for Sports has highlighted the eye-catching test "is the perfect image to explain our history," he said.
The regatta will be held on October 7th from Carrión Beach and will coincide with the start of the Municipal Autonomy Festivities of Los Alcázares that will end on October 14th.
