The mayor of Los Alcázares, Anastasio Bastida, and the head of the Municipal Water Service, Joaquín Ortín, delivered this morning the prize corresponding to the 16th Edition of the Digital Children's Contest that Aqualia organizes every year on the occasion of World Water Day.
The young student of CEIP Al-Kazar, Rocío García Sánchez, has been a finalist.
His work has been selected from among 8,000 participating school children from different municipalities in Spain and Portugal in which Aqualia provides services.
The jury has valued when deciding the winners "their ability to represent the path that takes water from nature to their daily environment, as well as how it is returned to the natural environment"
This year the contest has revolved around the microsite www.aguaparagrifus.com with the intention of putting in value the work that represents taking water from nature to the tap.
Joaquin Ortín, Aqualia, explained that the goal this year in the contest has been that the little ones learn to appreciate that "having water at home is not an easy task." Behind the gesture of opening the tap, there is an important task for reach our homes, hospitals, industries ... in optimal conditions for their consumption, that they know all the phases that make up the integral water cycle ".
The children's contest is part of the set of initiatives that the City of Los Alcázares and Aqualia regularly develop with schools to make them aware of the phases of the water cycle and educate them on a more responsible use and consumption of this resource.
