Everything happened because of a complaint from a neighbor about the lack of aid for those affected by the severe floods that Los Alcázares suffered in December 2016. On July 26 different media outlets announced the denounce for insults that the current Mayor of the Popular Party in Los Alcázares, Anastasio Bastida, had filed with the Civil Guard against the current spokesman and mayoral candidate, Mario Cervera, for allegedly making comments on a well-known Facebook social network.
The complaint reached Court No. 5 of San Javier and has finally been shelved.
As explained by the spokesman and PSOE candidate for mayor of Los Alcázares, Mario Cervera "during this time I had a very calm conscience, everything was assembly of Anastasio Bastida and his team to discredit me."
He has continued saying that "it was an attempt to silence my critical voice because of the shameful situation that those affected by the floods went through two years later." Two years later, the Municipal Government of the PP has blocked more than € 40,000 for those affected in the bank accounts of the City Hall of Los Alcázares ".
"I will continue to defend and fight for those affected by the floods to be treated as they deserve, there have been many promises and few have been fulfilled, we have even had to pay the fees for fixing our homes damaged by water," concluded Mario Cervera.
