The Popular Party of Los Alcázares demanded the Government Delegate, Diego Conesa, during the past floods on November 19, 2018 to begin repairs on channel D-7 to prevent future flooding in the municipality of Los Alcázares.
"From the government team of the Popular Party we feel cheated by the Government Delegate, Diego Conesa and by the words of the socialist spokesman of Los Alcázares, Mario Cervera, who assured that the emergency works would begin in the following weeks" point from the government team
They are going to meet almost 60 days and from the Popular Party confirm that they have only cleaned about 300 meters of hurdle, about 3,700 meters that has the channel, and not at the head of the channel where the ravine overflowed last November, but in an area where there was no danger of overflowing.
Days after the demand, the Government Delegate, together with the president of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation, met with the mayor, Anastasio Bastida (after the latter's request), where the first two committed themselves to urgently they would initiate the cleanings and measures to keep the D-7 canal in good condition.
After this, the Popular Party criticizes that "many photos were taken and they promised to clean the canal, but so far, they have only washed their faces in an area of the canal where it did not overflow nearly two months ago."
The Popular Party demands that the entire canal be cleaned from its headwaters to the connection with the Rambla del Albujón.
They also demand that measures be taken against those who have blocked the D-7 channel with "level crossings" not authorized for heavy vehicles, limiting the passage of water with small tubes and increasing the possibilities of overflowing in low intensity rains. .
