The Popular Party Municipal Government has blocked more than € 40,000 of donations for those affected by the floods in the bank accounts of the City of Los Alcázares, two years later
On December 18, 2016 the water flooded streets, low commercial areas, homes, garages, destroyed infrastructures and ended with memories of a lifetime of numerous residents of Los Alcázares.
In the face of this disaster, many organizations, collectives and anonymous respondents donated to various bank accounts enabled by the City of Los Alcázares to help the hundreds affected by the flood of water.
Up to a total of 60,000 euros were raised from small incomes and even from the celebration of major events among which the derby UCAM-Real Murcia, Paella Solidaria organized by the Parish of Our Lady of Asunción de Los Alcázares in the attended by more than 800 people, among others.
But according to denounce the socialists of that town "that money has not yet reached the affected."
Mario Cervera, Spokesman of the PSOE, explained that "it has been two years since the floods and these donations do not reach the neighbors who were affected by the water." It has not helped the speed with which they organized the acts and solidarity activities for help".
He continues affirming that "two years later, more than € 40,000 for those affected continue in the bank accounts of the City Council, this is a" misappropriation "since that money has long ago reached those affected by the very serious floods of 2016 "
"That is why we demand that the municipal government PP urgently convene the round table of donations for those affected by the floods to find a solution for more than € 40,000."
