The mayor of Los Alcázares, Anastasio Bastida and the Sports councilor, Nicolás Ruiz Gómez, the person in charge of the event, José Lara and the director of the Hotel Mossaic, Luis Montabes, presented this morning the III Chess Festival of Los Alcázares that will take place at the Hotel Mossaic throughout the weekend and in which more than 150 chess players are expected to participate.
Players from all corners of Spain, have registered to participate in this tournament that will have two categories, on the one hand the Sub 220 in which any player can participate, as long as their FEDA and FIDE is less than 2200 points.
And on the other, the Sub 1700, with the same conditions as the previous one but the points must be lower than 1700.
The festival will begin on Friday at 16:00 in the facilities of the new Hotel Mossaic which is located in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and will end on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with the delivery of prizes whose stock amounts to € 1500.
The mayor of Los Alcázares, Anastasio Bastida was satisfied with "the number of chess players who will spend the night in the municipality next weekend and therefore, enjoy their beaches, shops and cuisine," he said.
