"For the Popular Party the recovery and conservation of the Mar Menor is a real commitment, backed by the investment we made from the regional Executive and this year is 22 million euros," said the regional president of the PP, Fernando López Miras, who has assured that "the current state of the Mar Menor is the best since we started working on its regeneration".
The president explained that the latest data obtained in the salt lake indicate that transparency has improved by 135% compared to January 2018, and now reaches five meters.
In this sense, he stressed that it is "an excellent data", since last year this value was not reached until the beginning of summer, "which makes us think that during Holy Week we will enjoy a Mar Menor in optimal conditions. "
In addition, the turbidity is 80% lower than in 2018, being at minimum levels, like chlorophyll.
In this point, the maximum leader of the PP in the Region has made reference to the "inaction of the socialist Government of Pedro Sanchez that does not destine nor a single euro to the Mar Menor".
He also lamented that the National Executive had paralyzed "all the actions we had achieved", and mentioned as an example the execution of the Zero Discharge Plan.
López Miras has also highlighted the need to articulate new water infrastructures that guarantee a sustainable development of agriculture in the Campo de Cartagena, compatible with the recovery of the Mar Menor, as well as equipment for the capture of runoff, as presented by the PP in the Congress of Deputies through a Proposition No of Law.

Fernando Lopez Miras has embraced Nicolás Ruiz during his presentation as candidate for mayor of Los Alcazares, which stressed that "represents the renovation of the PP, has experience and brings a new air", aspects that make it "the best" to succeed Anastasio Bastida as head of the mayor's office.
Regarding the current mayor, the president thanked "his effort and work during all these years."
"The impulse of the process of modernization of the municipality has come from the hand of the PP, betting to reinforce the sports area and renew the urban environment, a project that will continue in the next term with Nicolás Ruiz as mayor," stressed President López Miras , who has recognized the work of the candidate who, currently, is a councilor of the current government team in the municipality.
For his part, Nicolás Ruiz has been "very satisfied" by the confidence placed in him to be the candidate for mayor of Los Alcázares, and has put in value the work of the PP during this term.
Thus, he explained that "we have advanced many projects of urban draft and tourist level we continue taking steps, going to fairs in the sector and publicizing the benefits of the municipality."
