Ciudadanos has expressed in Los Alcázares its commitment to sustainable agriculture in the municipalities near the Mar Menor, "because we are convinced that it is possible to develop an agricultural activity that is compatible with a productive model around tourism and, of course, with the protection of the Mar Menor ".
Isabel Franco, candidate of the orange formation to the Regional Assembly, has made these manifestations in an act in which she has been accompanied by Eleuterio Ramón, Cs candidate to the City Council of Los Alcázares, and Francisco Álvarez and Elena García, candidates for the Regional Assembly.
Franco said "it is fundamental to devote a good part of our resources, our time and our enthusiasm to promote the development of sustainable agriculture, because thanks to the fertility of our lands, our privileged climate and the efforts of our farmers, the agricultural products of the Region of Murcia are the best in Europe, and to continue to be we need water.
Therefore, we consider it essential to optimize water resources, and in this sense the Tajo-Segura transfer is indispensable because it is an essential infrastructure ".
In this sense, Franco believes that it is possible to complement a productive model around sustainable agriculture, and a tourism that ends with seasonalization and that allows the jobs of the hotel industry to be stable.
"All this is perfectly compatible with the conservation of the Mar Menor, although to achieve this it is essential to develop an integral law that protects this unique natural space, and for this the commitment of all sectors is necessary, because it is possible to carry out all the activities, offer a unique environment, and at the same time protect it. "
On the other hand Eleuterio Ramón, candidate of Citizens to the City council of Los Alcázares, has indicated that his team is formed by professionals of the social life, committed with his neighbors.
"One of our great objectives is to exploit the enormous tourist potential that the municipality of Los Alcázares has.
We are going to work for it, because if we manage to develop the great possibilities that this sector offers us, the municipality will become a focus of opportunities for small businesses and the hospitality industry ".
