The Mayor D. Mario Cervera announced this morning at a press conference some of the measures he plans to carry out in the coming months related to the damage caused in the floods of December 2016, among which are:

- Formalization of a bank loan amounting to € 1,200,000 to execute one of the measures included in a report by ESAMUR in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, which the previous Municipal Government had known since 2017 and which, until the floods of the last month of November he did not make public.

This measure covers practically the entire Zero Zone of the municipality, the area most affected by the floods, and consists of pipelining the rainwater of the upper zone of Ground Zero and connecting it with the existing collectors on 13 de Octubre Avenue.

This is one of the actions that last year it was agreed to carry out with the agreement of all the groups of the last Corporation and that, despite the commitment acquired to include it by the previous Government team in the 2019 Budgets, they were approved with the vote in favor of Partido Popular and Ciudadanos without contemplating it.

In addition, far from the announcement of the previous mayor to allocate the surplus of 2018 to these measures, the reality is that the exercise closed with a deficit of € 37,000

- Delivery of the pending amount of donations made by businessmen, associations and individuals, amounting to € 40,000 (from the initial € 60,000) to affected

These grants will have a maximum amount per affected of € 2,000 and will go to those neighbors who, having their usual home in the municipality, have not received any help to cover the damage caused in the floods.

In addition, the City of Los Alcázares is committed to give this measure maximum possible dissemination so that all residents have knowledge of it and can access to request it without any inconvenience.

The mayor notes that "with these two measures we want to demonstrate our absolute commitment to those affected and affected, as we announced in the last electoral campaign."
