The Regional Assembly of Murcia has been filled with celebration, in the words of its president, Alberto Castillo, to present the poster of one of the oldest cultural events in the Region such as the International Week of the Garden and the Sea of Los Alcazares.
The presentation of the poster, the work of the costumbrista painter Pepe Franco, has served the president of the Assembly to extol the importance of these festivities, which, in addition to the cultural appeal, have become an economic engine for tourism, hospitality and local commerce of the municipality, with the visit of more than 180,000 people in each edition.
Alberto Castillo has expressed his desire that regardless of whether the parties are presented in their respective municipalities, think of the Assembly and come to the Assembly, an institution that has always had the doors open "but in this Legislature we want them to open even more.
And if today the International Week of the Huerta and the Sea of Los Alczares has come, we would very much like the parties of the Pursima de Yecla, or the Mayos de Alhama, the Carnivals of Aguilas, the parties of the Corpus de Archena, the Abarn giants or bigheads, to name a few… ”So that“ those parties, those traditions, which are actually part of who we are, of what we feel, and are our roots, had in this House the reflection they deserve, because it is precisely the House of each and every one of Murcia. ”
The director of the contest, Juan Garca Serrano, has advanced in his speech some of the novelties of the XLVIII edition of the International Week of the Garden and the Sea, which will be held from August 14 to 24, while the mayor of Los Alcazares Mario Cervera, thanked the reception of the Regional Assembly and the work of the organizers of a contest that struggles for its recognition at the national level.
The event was attended by deputies Manuel Sevilla and Carmina Fernndez, of the Socialist Group;
Antonio Luengo, from the Popular Group;
Isabel Franco, Valle Migulez and Francisco Alvrez, of the Citizens-Party of Citizenship Group, and Pascual Salvador, of the Vox Group, as well as the president of the Regional House of Murcia and Albacete in Valencia, the president of the Berber Association, of Los Alczares, and representatives of different Huertana clubs.
