The City Council of Los Alcázares today celebrated the official presentation of the Spanish KITE Formula Championship to be held in Los Alcázares between March 6 and 8 at Punta Calera Beach in Los Narejos where the best sailors of this discipline will participate at national and European level.
This test is of national impact because it is qualifying to form the future national team that will represent Spain in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The Mar Menor will once again be the ideal setting to witness the competition between the 6 international Olympic teams.
The Polish Olympic team was the first to confirm their participation, followed by the sailing teams from France, Russia, Denmark, Germany and Portugal.
For his part, the technical director of the Championship, Casimiro Martínez has highlighted the participation of the current champion of Spain Alex Climent and several high level sailors in these competitions in the Spanish national team.
The organizer has emphasized the collaboration of the City Council of Los Alcázares and the Department of Sports to celebrate this event as well as each and every one of the collaborators and sponsors to make this event possible.
On the other hand, the Mayor of the municipality, Mario Pérez Cervera has commented that the importance of the realization of these important nautical events in the Mar Menor "to put aside the last catastrophic events lived in the Municipality giving life to a municipality that is each more active and with a hopeful future in all aspects, "he said.
