On June 9, the Region of Murcia will commemorate the XXXVIII Anniversary of its Statute of Autonomy, approved in the General Courts on June 9, 1982, as provided in Article 146 of the Spanish Constitution.
The Fundamental Norm of Murcia is the "expression of the identity of the Region of Murcia", which, with its approval, made its right to self-government a reality "in full respect for fundamental rights and public freedoms".
As explained by the PSOE in the motion "during that day the Region of Murcia traditionally programs a series of activities in one of the 45 municipalities. Los Alcázares has suffered in recent months up to a total of 3 floods, some such as September with some devastating consequences But even in the worst circumstances, our neighbors have been an example of overcoming and recovering, so even this year, the highest award granted by the municipality, the Alkazar prize, has fallen on the inhabitants themselves. In addition, we have received the love and support of the rest of the 44 municipalities that make up the Region of Murcia, which is why we consider Los Alcázares an example of union and solidarity among Murcia, values all of them that reflect the spirit of the Region's autonomy of Murcia".
In that sense, all the municipal groups with representation in the Los Alcázares City Council have agreed that if the events were held in the municipality of Los Alcázares they would have a positive effect on the locality.
It could help revitalize and encourage local commerce.
