| The arrival of these cadets and their families in the municipality is a boost for the local economy | The new health regulations to prevent the spread of Covid-19 forces the division of groups in the General Air Academy (AGA) during the training year.
On this occasion, the incorporation of the cadets will be done in a staggered manner until it is fully completed, in order to guarantee compliance with the security measures. To comply with these measures, the AGA has occupied some of the facilities of the Los Alcázares Military Base to accommodate the 80 cadets who travel to Santiago de la Ribera every day by bus to receive military training.
The rest of the time, devoted to leisure and rest, is spent in Los Alcázares. The mayor of the town, Mario Cervera, has said in this regard that "it is very important for Los Alcázares that the Military Base regain the occupation and utility of before, since this supposes a boost to local commerce and hospitality, since the cadets make life in Los Alcázares energizing our economy and participating in our cultural life and traditions ". And it is for this reason, the Alcazareño alderman asked the Ministry of the Interior to grant the use of part of the Base to turn it into a space for culture, in order to house university studies or other cultural alternatives that boost the economy.
