| The emblematic regatta on the various categories of windsurfing that has the Mar Menor as its stage and Los Alcázares as its venue, will be held between October 31 and November 1 | It has been prayed for, but the Surfari Mar Menor 2020 is now a reality.
After the cancellation in 2019 by Dana and the serious flooding that the Murcia Region suffered, especially Los Alcázares, the committee was forced to leave that edition for 2020.
A year that is also being very complicated due to the Covid19 situation, but after overcoming some small obstacles on October 31, the XXII Surfari Mar Menor starts and although it will be special in many aspects, among them they will only celebrate two days instead of the usual three, in addition to having to change their usual date.It will also be special for the health security measures.
The organizing committee has made, and will emphasize, that all health and social distancing protocols are complied with, both those established by the RFEV and the CSD, as well as those of the FVRM and the CN Mar Menor Los Alcázares and those determined by the Region of Murcia and the Los Alcázares council itself. But this is not going to be a handicap to reunite in that special environment such as the Mar Menor the best windsurfers on the national scene, within the Open, Open Children's, Slalom and Foil categories.
Due to security measures and complying with health protocols, a maximum total of 100 participants has been established in these four categories. The sports program is framed on this occasion in just two days: Saturday, October 31 and November 1, with eight scheduled tests and the top start for the first test of the day established at 11.00, provided that wind conditions like this allow it.The organizing committee has not wanted to leave the 'Surfari' blank for another year, for this reason it has worked intensively in recent weeks with the institutions of the Region and the City Council, together with the Federation and the Club itself with the sole objective of being able to celebrate This emblematic regatta with 23 years of history, although for the purposes of 2020 it is established as the 22nd edition.
