Manzanares, La Concha, El Espejo, Carrion, Las Palmeras and Los Narejos are six bathing beaches of Los Alcazares with the distinctive blue flag.
The municipality thus becomes one of the few municipalities in Spain, which will wear the distinctive blue flag in every one of its beaches as does the number of Q Quality.
Blue Flag is an annual award and a system of certification of environmental quality, developed by the SEF since 1987, certifying compliance with some standards such as water quality or proper environmental management, but also the accessibility to these spaces for people with reduced mobility and the existence of health services and rescue.
The jury, chaired by ADEAC, in which the coastal CCAA, the FEMP and the ministries, foundations and universities involved participate, have determined to grant a new Blue Flag beaches of Los Alcázares to meet the criteria for this award such as the quality of bathing water, information, education and environmental management, as well as security, services and facilities.
The mayor of Tourism and Beaches, Maite Olmos explained that "from the Department of Tourism and Beaches, has worked tirelessly to get this new Blue Flag which puts our beaches in the top of the ranking," he said.
