Education has invested 468,000 euros to improve educational centers during the Christmas holidays
The institute Antonio Menárguez Costa and the school Welcome Conejero of Los Alcázares resumed their teaching activity today after the damages caused by the rainy season last December.
The Director General of Educational Centers, Maria Dolores Valcárcel, visited today both educational centers, in which the Ministry carried out emergency works for the development of all facilities.
Thus, a total of 1,379 students and 109 teachers of these centers returned to their classes with complete normality after the emergency works that were done to repair the damages caused.
The Director General of Educational Centers explained that "the Ministry has worked at all times in collaboration with the City of Los Alcázares to solve all the incidents and damages caused by the rains in the schools of the municipality."
Work carried out included the cleaning and removal of sludge in basements, ground floors and exterior patios, repair of interior pavements, restoration of electrical supplies, heating, fencing and carpentry, as well as cleaning of the entire water drainage network And access to the different teaching modules.
Improvements in schools at Christmas
On the other hand, the Ministry of Education and Universities has carried out works of remodeling and improvement in schools in 13 municipalities during the Christmas holidays, for which a total of 468,661 euros has been earmarked.
María Dolores Valcárcel highlighted "the important economic effort that the Community continues to have to have better infrastructures that facilitate the learning of students and the work of teachers within the strategy '+ Educational Quality, + School Success'.
Among the actions undertaken in the centers are improvements in heating systems, access, replacement of covers for more eco-efficient thermal conditioning, construction of classrooms, adaptation of electrical installations, expansion of various facilities, sanitation and repair of fencing and sports facilities.
In particular, the municipalities in which these repairs are being carried out are Abarán, Archena, Bullas, Cartagena, Jumilla, Lorca, Molina de Segura, Murcia, Torre Pacheco, Las Torres de Cotillas, Totana, Ulea and La Unión.
