The socialists Alcazareños have made this week a round of meetings to address various issues related to the very serious flood that suffered the municipality on 18 December.
Among the rounds of contact, the meeting with the Association of Affected by the Floods of Los Alcazares where the neighbors transferred to Senator Juan Luis Soto their demands, in a meeting held to coordinate actions and develop proposals.
Among other things, the Association of Flood Affected the need to request the Autonomous Community of Murcia and the Government of the Nation to be approved a royal decree exclusively for the municipality of Los Alcazares by the floods last December Of 2016, with the motivation of being the municipality that obtained a valuation of damages much superior to the rest of the affected ones.
He considered that the real decree approved may be valid for a municipality of interior, but not for a coastal where three-quarters of the homes are second homes, which are not covered by Royal Decree 2/2017 of 27 January, approved By the Government of the Nation.
Juan Luis Soto pledged to "bring this and other demands to the Senate as soon as possible, which will be done through questions."
In addition, the senator has also requested the appearance of the president of the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura (CHS), in order to demand solutions to the channels of the ramblas so that this catastrophe does not recur.
A meeting was also held this morning in Los Alcázares, where councilors from the Municipalities of Cartagena, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Torre Pacheco have attended to compare the situations of each municipality and assess joint actions in the face of the worrying situation of Mar Menor and the rambles that surround the municipalities.
The Secretary General of the Socialist Party of Los Alcazares, Mario Ginés Pérez Cervera, thanked "enormously the joint work done. Experience has shown that it is better to work jointly between institutions than on an individual basis."
We continue to work together to provide solutions to the neighbors of the region of Mar Menor. "Aids, solutions so that there are no future overflows and the regeneration of the Mar Menor are our top priorities."
