The deputy of the Socialist Parliamentary Group Consuelo Cano has claimed in the Health Commission to extend the schedule of the Health Center of the municipality of Los Alcázares to 24 hours with primary care emergency service.
Los Alcázares is a municipality with about 17,000 inhabitants in winter, which rises to about 100,000 in the summer season.
It is equipped with a Health Center (Primary Care Equipment EAP) and a doctor's office in Los Narejos with schedules from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., having to be transferred to the municipality of San Javier, from that time, for any medical attention .
Consuelo Cano claims that despite having a hospital nearby, such as Los Arcos, these neighbors have a serious problem of accessibility, lacking a regular line of transport with reasonable benefits.
"Former counselor Francisco Bernabé promised a public transport on demand for the users of this hospital, but he has not kept his promises and these citizens find themselves with real difficulties to be taken care of in case of medical emergency."
The Socialist Parliamentary Group considers that the current needs of "these neighbors are not being covered efficiently and it is necessary to take into account the reality of Los Alcázares, where many elderly people and tourists live throughout the year who can not drive until The neighboring municipality ".
The deputy asks what it is for the regional government to spend so much money on campaigns to promote tourism if it then does not invest in the important and basic as is the health of people.
"Once again it becomes necessary to reconsider and order the urgencies and emergencies of our Region that from the cut and reduction of benefits continues to expect better and broader coverage," he concluded.
