The Ministry of Presidency and Development has begun the process to acquire a new off-road vehicle that will join the municipal Civil Protection service of Los Alcazares, replacing another that suffered major damage during the floods last December and, as a result of It became useless.
The acquisition of this vehicle will mean the investment, by the Ministry, of 30,000 euros.
So it was transmitted today the general director of Public Safety and Emergencies, José Ramón Carrasco, the mayor of Los Alcazares, Anastasio Bastida, during a meeting they held to analyze various issues related to emergency care and the Municipal Emergency Plan.
José Ramón Carrasco highlighted that "once again shows the support of the regional government to the municipality of Los Alcazares, which from the first minute deployed a significant number of troops to act in the flood and work for the recovery of the town."
Carrasco said that the new vehicle will be a pickup and off-road vehicle and "will help improve the intervention of the municipal Civil Protection service in emergency situations and catastrophes."
Surveillance on beaches
During the meeting also the Plan of Surveillance and Rescue in Beaches and Rescue in the Sea (Plan Copla) was approached.
This year the Ministry of Presidency and Development has increased its subsidy to the City of Los Alcázares by 18.6 percent for the maintenance of the device in all beaches, amounting to 54,338 euros.
The Plan Copla operation in Los Alcázares has seven surveillance posts, which serve seven beaches and which each have 14 lifeguards and one employer.
Likewise, the Ministry subsidizes with 17,292 euros the maintenance of a boat for marine rescue.
So far this summer, the lifeguards of Plan Copla have made 2,732 attendances on the beaches of Los Alcázares, of which the majority have been information services and assistance to the disabled (2,108).
In addition, the regional Executive this year allocated 270,000 euros to the consistory of Los Alcázares to favor the provision of the citizen security service by nine Local Police agents attached to the Regional Citizen Security Plan.
