The municipality of Los Alcázares will have at the beginning of next year natural gas, according to the gasification project that will run Redexis Gas, and which includes the connection to existing facilities in the neighboring municipality of San Javier, which will feed a regulation station From which the distribution networks will start to supply the alcazareña population, thus covering a potential market of more than 3,700 homes and more than a score of businesses.

To the general director of the Southern Mediterranean Zone of Redexis Gas, Diego Sanchez, and the delegate of the company in the Region of Murcia, Pedro Santos, stressed that this initiative is part of the Energy Plan 2016-2020 and that it is a " Measure to support energy infrastructures ".
"The regional government works to allow access to different energy sources, in this case natural gas, which is much cleaner than other conventional sources," added Hernández, who said that he is focusing on "encouraging and supporting any activity that contributes to Increase competitiveness, because, to a greater competitiveness, through the lowering of taxes, the quality of services and administrative simplification, greater capacity for saving in the pockets of citizens.
The works in Los Alcázares are scheduled to begin in September, so that the first installations will be in service at the beginning of the year.
The minister explained that this supply "will contribute to increase the welfare and quality of life of citizens, who can enjoy an economic and efficient energy."
In this regard, he stressed that the new natural gas service will give impetus to the economic recovery of the municipality, as families and entrepreneurs can count on savings of between 30 and 40 percent on their bill.
With regard to the Gasification Plan of the Region of Murcia, after the last supplies of Abarán and La Unión, the forecasts indicate that before the end of the year a natural gas plant will also be available in Mazarrón.
For the next year, it is expected that the authorizations and execution projects will be completed to provide the municipalities of Beniel and Moratalla with supplies.
At the project stage and authorization request is the gas supply to Puerto Lumbreras.
Presence in 36 municipalities
Redexis Gas provides natural gas to more than 1,400,000 inhabitants of the Region through 2,230 kilometers of networks.
The company provides permanent employment to 300 people, in distribution and transportation of gas through direct and indirect positions.
The company aims to deploy infrastructures in 14 new municipalities - in 13 of them already have the authorization -, which would mean an investment of 100 million euros in distribution networks in the coming years.
