The municipality of Los Alcázares will have in the coming months a new rural road, whose works are underway by the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, within the Plan of Rural Roads of the Region of Murcia for the period 2014-2020, which are implemented through Community investments co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
The director of Agrarian Funds and Rural Development, Carmen Sandoval, today visited the Way of Trasvase, which is conditioning the Ministry in Los Alcazares and has a length of 1,046 meters and an average width of 5.5 meters.
"The total budget for the actions is 53,639 euros, which will allow connecting the RM-F35 and RM-F26 regional roads with agricultural and livestock farms."
This road is included in the first call, which was published in April 2016 and ended in July of that year, with the selection of 50 roads from 23 municipalities and an estimated budget of 4.5 million euros.
"For the regional government it is a priority that the field be equipped with the appropriate rural infrastructure to achieve adequate access to farms," ​​said the director general, who recalled that the second call was extended from one to two months "to enable the city councils the assessment of the effects of the floods of December 2016. "
In the second call, a total of 64 actions were selected to improve rural roads, with a length of 189.6 kilometers, corresponding to 33 municipalities.
According to forecasts, the works will allow the adequate and improvement of some 600 kilometers of rural roads for the period 2014-2020, with an investment of more than 16 million euros.
The Region of Murcia has a network of 6,000 kilometers of roads.
