The Ministry of the Presidency and Promotion advances in the tender of the sports port of Los Alcázares, which will mean an improvement of its facilities thanks to an investment of 550,000 euros.
This was announced today by the general director of Transport, Coasts and Ports, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, during his visit to the municipality in which he said that "the tender includes improvements to the access pontoon and dykes, which already has all the mandatory environmental authorizations ".
José Ramón Díez de Revenga explained that it has already been published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM) the authorization of the study that demonstrates the viability of this port infrastructure and is "the previous step to the next tender of this port" , which is expected to occur in the first quarter of 2018.
"The concession is clearly viable and attractive to be operated as Nautical Club, which is demonstrated by the high occupancy of the port, over 95 percent," said the regional port manager.
The general director said that the new concession will be for a period of 20 years, "enough time for the future concessionaire to implement programs for the development of first-class water sportsmen, as in the case of sailing".
He recalled that the current Spanish sailing champion in the Laser 4.7 class, Carmen Martínez-Artero, belongs to the Club Náutico de Los Alcázares.

The port consists of two L-shaped dams with a 20-meter wide mouth, three pontoons and several docks.
It has 282 moorings with a maximum length of 12 meters and a draft of 2 meters in the mouth and 1.4 meters in the dock.
It also has a ten-ton crane, dry dock, visitors' dam and other services for associates and visitors.
