The Socialists of Los Alcázares denounce that, since its construction, the storm tank has not been put into operation.
It is a work that has cost more than 1.2 million euros and is completely abandoned since its inauguration.
The spokesman of the PSOE of Los Alcázares, Mario Cervera, has expressed concern about the state in which the storm tank is currently, since the lattice is sunken, which represents a danger to pedestrians, not only by the sinking but by the stumbles and falls that may occur.
"During this Holy Week hundreds of people have passed through with the consequent danger caused by the state of this installation, which is compounded by the health problems caused by stagnant water, generating pests of mosquitoes and other insects," he said.
According to Cervera, it is, once again, an installation whose only use has only served for the mayor of the Popular Party, Anastasio Bastida and the advisor Adela Martínez Cachá to take a photo for purely electoral purposes, as previously now government delegate, Francisco Bernabé, with the bus line Los Alcázares- Los Arcos.
"The alcazareños still do not have systems that avoid the first rainwater, the most polluting, go to the Mar Menor and, if the case of precipitation occurs as the 2016, the damage generated in the municipality are not the same catastrophic dimensions, "he said.
"We will ask the regional and municipal government for solutions for this work fudge, while the two administrations are throwing their balls at each other, the alcazareños continue to be harmed by an unusable work", concluded Mario Cervera.
