The full council of Los Alcazares has approved this morning in special session, an agreement of collaboration with the Ecological Society for the Recycling of Glass Containers (Ecovidrio) for later collection and recycling of glass waste in the municipality.
The approval was made unanimously by all those attending the plenary.
The agreement states that the City will be responsible for the collection of waste glass containers and transport to the designated location.
In return, the company will finance the additional costs involved the collection at nearly twenty euros per ton of glass (€ 19.57 / t)
This will mean an income to the municipality of about 1,400 per year given that it takes an average of seventy tons of glass per year.
In addition, Ecovidrio will pay the replacement of recycling containers where necessary existing and the City will be responsible for performing maintenance and cleaning at least twice a year.
Encarna Mayor Gil stated that what is important to establish this type of agreement is "getting people aware that we are all responsible for the cleanliness of our streets and the importance of correctly separating the different waste to enable recycling" .
Gil was referring to the commitments in the agreement by both parties "not only will the company conduct awareness campaigns and information between the neighbors but we will bring to city coffers extra income, however small, to realize this task successfully. "
Moreover, within the business to be in the order of the day, the plenary has approved the extension of the maturity of the credit transaction Cajamurcia.
