The support group for cancer of the region of Mar Menor, MABS has received a donation from the band members of Los Narejos Spangles.
This female vocal group meets weekly at the Municipal Center Las Claras del Mar Menor in Los Narejos to sing a cappella songs.
Last Christmas performed a benefit concert at the Center for Integrated Social Services and Women (CISSMU) of the town and its collection, 388 euros, has been fully earmarked for MABS.
The Spangles began in 2004 with just five members.
Now, seven years later are seventy women of German, English, Swedish and Spanish.
"It's a close-knit group - said the Councillor for Foreigners, Isabel Montesinos-meet in the center, sharing experiences, customs, stories ... and above all, surprisingly sing a cappella."
The Civic Center is located in Los Narejos, where most of the foreign community in the locality.
"It is an active center where they perform different workshops ranging from Spanish classes to painting classes, workshops patchwork ... and that foreigners coming to be involved almost one big family, the proof is the Spangles" - added Montesinos.
Seventy women there is only one Spanish, the directors of the group Lynda Baines and Anthea Prentice, encourage this number to grow.
"The meeting point is here in Los Narejos but women come from all over the county, even from Cartagena and Torrevieja, but we want more participation of Spanish women" - state.
"We meet every Thursday morning so that you know where those interested we are waiting, when they want to be welcome" - added.
