The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA), through the Commonwealth Taibilla channel (MCT), has tendered the works to improve water supply to the town of Los Alcazares (Murcia), amounting 3.1 million euros.
This tender is part of the program of renovation and improvement of the distribution network of the Commonwealth Taibilla channel under the Ministry.
The planned actions are to mount a new drive with ductile iron pipe of 700 mm in diameter and the corresponding equipment installation of valves, drains and vents in urban section of about 3,000 meters, with corresponding replacements Service.
These interventions are co-financed by the European FEDER funds by 80 percent.
The Alcazar, located on the coast of the Mar Menor, has a population of about 16,200 inhabitants increases significantly in the summer, and this action will improve its water supply.
Commonwealth Taibilla channel, autonomous body of the Ministry, is to supply drinking water to 79 municipalities high in the provinces of Alicante, Murcia and Albacete, with a total population of 2.6 million inhabitants, which in summer is approaching 3 million.
