The General Director of Educational Planning and Attention to Diversity, Begoña Iniesta alongside councilors of Education, Social Policy and Cristina Sánchez, Francisco Méndez participated this morning in the town of Los Alcazares in committing truancy, as well as visiting IES Antonio Costa Menárguez to see first hand the actions that the Ministry of Education, Universities and Employment and the departments of Education and Social Policy are carried out to combat early school leaving.
Iniesta stressed "that the town of Los Alcazares is a pioneer and innovator in the implementation of programs against absenteeism that since 2007 the departments of Education and Social Policy developed in town centers."
From the departments of Education and Social Policy developed various programs to combat absenteeism among which include the 'clock' program that addresses turn to youth to ensure attendance and avoid delays.
Another program that is developed is 'Alternative to Expulsion' that began with about 200 cases of expulsion and today there are only 16 records, in addition to holding an annual day 'Come to class' to motivate children to attend the school or college.
In addition, during the commission defined the new shares to be implemented this year in the plan of truancy in the municipality with the support of the Ministry of Education, such as the tutor police and training sessions for trainers.
