The Governing Council agreed to authorize the hiring and spending the device works rainwater collection and surplus flow of the sewage of Los Alcazares, amounting to 2,532,880 euros, financed by 80 percent by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union.
The new infrastructure will correct the discharge of waste water and washing streets to the Mar Menor and therefore contamination, since the existing pumps currently can not absorb all the wealth derived from the storms.
This surplus of water, once collected, will be driven to the treatment plant of the municipality for treatment, and subsequently used to increase water resources for irrigation.
The device, which will be built in the urban municipality, next to the main pump sump Los Alcazares, will be funded in 2014 and 2015 annuities, and include new pipelines and tank storms.
This action, which the president of the Community, Alberto Garre, committed in his official visit to the town, is part of the General Plan of cleansing and purifying of the Region of Murcia which aims to improve the quality of life of Citizens and environmental preservation.
