Anastasio Bastida: "accounts of the City are clear and the PSOE only wants to generate uncertainty" (18/08/2014)

Bastida explains that "the new law has forced local financing bills incorporating the previous Socialist government left unpaid"

The mayor of Los Alcazares, Anastasio Bastida, has criticized the PSOE "because only aims to generate uncertainty," after the opposition party has withdrawn the financial situation of the municipality.

According Bastida, "the City of Los Alcazares is not bankrupt because we are late with payments to both workers, as banks and suppliers."

The 'popular' leader explained that "the new law on local financing has forced us to incorporate Urbaser bills and Aqualia, the PSOE left unpaid worth seven million euros in its earlier stage of government."

"It is true that those bills have absorbed all the remnant we had, generating a deficit of 300,000 euros," he said while pointing out "that the council has appealed against these bills without monitor and hope that the law gives us the right."

"Otherwise, we will continue to face the many debts we left the PSOE government for 28 years," he underlined.

Bastida recalled that when the PP came to power "we owe a debt of 30 million euros and have managed to reduce by 20 million euros, including bills and Acualia Urbaset", and added that today , "have paid 5 million euros for the 2009 Financing Plan debt, and left to pay 700,000 euros."

Therefore, he concluded by saying that "the City of Los Alcazares is not bankrupt and alcazareño know very well that the accounts are clear and we are following the law."
