Los Alcázares 'eviction free' municipality declares, it is the first in the region to adopt such a declaration.
This has been possible thanks to a joint motion of the PSOE-IU-C's, the three parties with a majority in the House of Los Alcázares in response to an initiative of the Platform of People Affected by the Mortgage of the area, having It has been studied for two months by the different municipal groups.
In previous meetings of the Board of Spokesmen, the Popular Party decided not to join the PSOE, the United Left-Greens and Citizens, so the motion was filed only by these three parties, which have an absolute majority.
During the plenary, after the arguments in favor of the initiative of the opposition parties, namely, the adoption of the motion was already guaranteed, the PP finally decided to vote in favor of it so it was approved unanimously.
The proposal includes measures such as support in intermediation in banking eviction processes, especially in those cases where minors reside in homes.
Also the City does not work with municipal resources in these processes, but in cases in which by operation of law or by court order is required to do so.
It will operate to the banks or credit to meet empty and ready to be used for social rental housing.
Social services will have to modify their protocols and assistance in relation to cases of evictions.
So that everything is done with a real knowledge as to the correctness of the process and to boost this policy is to create the City Commission Antidesahucios to be staffed by local groups, representatives of the PAH and social organizations involved in the this type of problem.
