The Governing Council has approved agreements between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Spanish federation canoeing, wrestling, taekwondo and billiards to develop various programs at the Center for Sports Modernization 'Infanta Cristina'.
The aim of these agreements, which are valid until August 2012 - is to support the technical expertise of athletes since its inception in autonomic, until its consolidation as a highly competitive athletes, through sports programs of modernization, driven by the Sports Council in coordination with communities and associations.
The Community will manage, through the High Performance Centre Infanta Cristina, accommodating a maximum of 12 athletes for each sport, and provide the technical and scientific support, medical, psychological and academic groups Athletes of modernization.
Sports federations, besides providing the necessary technical development programs, undertake a minimum of 25 percent of the selected athletes are born in the region or who have established residency here at least five years.
