Izquierda Unida has tabled an amendment to the Budget (PGE), 2010 by requesting the location of a peacekeeping base for humanitarian action by the United Nations Organization (UNO) in the base of Los Alcazares.

This request, which IU has allocated a budget of 2 million euros, is to ensure that the region has a base of training personnel in humanitarian intervention, coupled with training of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and UN blue helmets.

The formation of the left has been proposed that this infrastructure is located at the base of Los Alcazares, which is now abandoned.
